Phase IV

In Phase IV, the REDI-NET program will establish new regional satellite laboratories and deploy the REDI-NET e-MERGE System in SOUTHCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, and CENTCOM while continuing to maintain laboratories in NORTHCOM and AFRICOM.

This roll-out is intended to support Force Health Protection and Force Readiness in CONUS and OCONUS settings by:

  1. Intergrating the REDI-NET into Joint Force pathogen surveillance activities
  2. Engaging and training select Department of Defense stakeholders to ensure knowledge transfer of established REDI-NET protocols and database functionality, and
  3. Providing reach-back support to Joint Force stakeholders to integrate the REDI-NET e-MERGE System into existing emerging pathogen surveillance efforts.

The scientific premise of this phase centers on the requirement of validated tools and processes for near real-time evidence-based public and military FHP decision-making, trained health professionals and facilities for appropriate environmental pathogen surveillance, detection and response; and tangible, measurable partnerships amongst stakeholders for leveraging expertise and resources for disease surveillance and management.
