Suppaluck Nelson

Suppaluck Nelson is a Scientist at the Naval Health Research Center - Operational Infectious Diseases Directorate (NHRC-OID). Prior to joining NHRC-OID, Suppaluck was a Molecular Technician at The Walter Reed Biosystematics Unit, Smithsonian Institution - National Museum of Natural History (WRBU, SI-NMNH) and joined the REDI-NET program in April 2021 – June 2023. She is experienced in DNA/RNA extraction, and sequencing of gDNA/cDNA using Oxford Nanopore/ Illumina systems.
Suppaluck received her Ph.D. in Medical Zoology at Uniformed Services University. Her research focused on Rickettsia pathogens detection and DNA barcoding for species identification in ticks in Belize. Suppaluck has also worked on mosquito behavior and control research in Thailand for 8 years.
