Michael von Fricken
University of Florida Associate Professor and Smithsonian Institute (SI) Research Associate
Dr. Michael von Fricken is an Associate Professor at the University of Florida Department of Environmental and Global Health, and also the Director of the One Health Center of Excellence at the University of Florida. He is currently a Research Associate with the Smithsonian Institution and maintains a Visiting Scientist designation at USAMRIID’s Diagnostic Systems Division. His research interests include vector-borne disease surveillance, control, and pathogen discovery, with over a decade of international experience studying emerging diseases in Haiti, Kenya, Mongolia, and Equatorial Guinea using a One Health approach.
