Marie Pott or Cathy, affectionately known, lives in San Joaquin Village, Corozal District. She is the third child out of a family of five girls, holds an Associate degree in Biology from Corozal Junior College since, from a young age, she knew she wanted to pursue a degree in science. She has realized that being a mother involves more than just being a caregiver, but most importantly, being a role model to those tiny feet following her around. Cathy has always had the ambition to impact her country positively and started her career as a primary school teacher. She felt that molding the mind of our future leaders was the way to go but did not feel accomplished as she was missing some adventure. Working at the Belize Vector and Ecology Center, she has the opportunity to combine her passion and knowledge to make positive changes that will be beneficial to her country.
