LCDR Sara Robinson

LCDR Sara Robinson obtained her Bachelor of Science at The George Washington University in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Biology. She earned a Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University and went on to attend medical school at Georgetown University. She completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at NCC-Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in 2018. She completed fellowship in Infectious Diseases (ID) at NCC-Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in 2020. She served at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a core faculty member in Infectious Diseases and the Associate Program Director for the ID Fellowship program from 2020-2024. She was the Chair of Infection Prevention and Control for the hospital from 2022-2024 and Chief of  the Infectious Diseases Service from 2023-2024. She is appointed as Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health  Sciences. In 2024 she relocated to San Diego, CA and is stationed at the Naval Health Research Center where she took on the position as Department Head of Clinical Trials and the Deputy Director position of the Operational Infectious Diseases Directorate. She is serving as PI for an FDA clinical trial for a new testing platform for tropical infectious disease as well as working with DoD partners to pilot new devices for detection of biological and chemical threats to benefit the readiness of today’s warfighters. Her clinical interests lie in clinical Infectious  Diseases with specific interests in respiratory viruses. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
