Jessy earned a bachelor's degree in Microbiology & Cell Science from the University of Florida. Before joining NECE, she worked at the Florida Department of Health for 4 years, developing and performing next generation sequencing assays for genomic surveillance of pathogens of human importance, including SARS-CoV-2 & bacteria that cause food-borne disease. She is excited to join the Research & Development lab at NECE toward improving the Navy's vector-borne disease response & preparedness.
