Brenden S. Gregorio is a Medical Research Assistant for the Naval Health Research Center, Operational Infectious Diseases Directorate (NHRC-OID). His day-to-day responsibilities encompass the in-person recruitment of military personnel into several biosurveillance and clinical trial studies conducted by NHRC-OID.

Brenden's role has spanned various military treatment facilities, notably Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego (MCRD SD), Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton (NHCP). Most recently, Brenden embarked on the USNS Mercy to enroll Navy servicemembers in support of a clinical trial that addresses pre-symptomatic biomarkers of infection in austere operational environments.

Prior to joining NHRC-OID, Brenden earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at UCLA in 2021. As an undergraduate student, Brenden served as a neuropathology research intern at Cedars Sinai Medical Center; a co-founder and vice president of United Students for Veterans' Health; and a genetics peer learning facilitator with the UCLA Academic Advancement Program.

As the son and grandson of Navy veterans, Brenden is driven by a desire to contribute to military and veteran health initiatives. His ultimate goal is to commission with the Navy in a capacity that will allow him to address emerging health issues that impact current and prior servicemembers.
