Beth Mutai

Beth Mutai holds a Master of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology and received her PhD in Medical Microbiology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Her main interests include the study of infectious diseases such as malaria and ricketssiae. As Lab Manager at WRAIR-Africa, she leads a team of 10 young scientists involved in an ongoing acute febrile illness survellance study that aims to delineate possible causes of febrile illnesses. Beth joined the REDI-NET team in 2024 and has since been responsible for planning and overseeing logistics for specimen collection, processing, testing and storage. This includes establishing procedures to be followed, supervising the lab team, procuring required resources, managing budgets, preparing reports and presenting findings.
