Smithsonian Institute (SI) Director of Wildlife Health

Dr. Dawn Zimmerman is the Director of Wildlife Health for Smithsonian’s Global Health Program, where she focuses on applying a One Health approach for the mitigation of infectious diseases at the human-wildlife intersection. With current field projects in 9 countries across the globe, her primary interests include advancing interdisciplinary collaborations to positively impact the health of wildlife and their habitat, as well as adjacent human communities.
