The USNS MERCY is using the REDI-NET field collection SOPs for environmental sampling throughout Oceania and the Western Pacific during their deployment. Samples will be provided to the team at the Naval Medical Research Center, led by Dr. Le Jiang, for next-generation sequencing to detect pathogen presence. All data will be added to the REDI-NET e-MERGE pipeline to generate risk projections.
